PayBoy: Pay Me

i-tunes
PayBoy was born in Nashville Tennessee, a city known as Music City because of the Fisk Jubilee singers in the 1800s.

PayBoy knew he wanted to pursue music at an early age and was really inspired when he heard his cousin Niko sing hooks and back-up vocals for Bone Thugs N Harmony in the earlier part of their career. Top it off with a legend like David Ruffin from the Temptations as his cousin and he was born to do music. Instead of football he wanted to play in the high school band. He played the bass drum in the marching band and Alto saxophone in concert band.

Though he is a hip hop artist, he loves all types of music and loves going to Rock, Country, and R & B shows and incorporating their style and sound into his own, which sets him apart from most. He looked up to entertainers like Michael Jackson who exhibited the importance of making great music that the world can enjoy, and putting on a real show when you step on the stage. PayBoy's motto is "When I go on stage the people that perform before me will be honored and the people that come after me will be embarrassed because they can't top it." He puts his heart into every show and feels like it's HIS stage when he performs, and nobody can touch him up there. He has performed several times at the legendary B.B. Kings with a live band, The French Quarter Café, Soul Lounges, and Hip Hop clubs.

He landed a distribution deal with Take 4 Records while working on his first album but Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans shortly after, and the newly built company was destroyed.

He has worked with Ghost, who won a Grammy for best rap/sung collaboration. ( "Dilemma" by Nelly and Kelly Rowland). He has worked with Greg Charlie, who was part of the soul duo "Kiara", whose biggest hit was " This Time." And he has also worked with personal friend and producer Jody Stevens, one half of the country duo "Fast Ryde".

He loves musical tracks and will usually tell producers to play R & B tracks because they usually have the most music in them. While recording his album in Atlanta, he slept in his car because he couldn't afford the price of a hotel plus studio time. He never told anyone and would make up a name for a hotel when family members called and asked where he was staying. He believed that recording his music was more important than a good nights sleep so he had no problem pulling into a Wal-Mart parking lot, throwing on some headphones, and envisioning being in a five star hotel. Strong faith in God and a passion for his dream got him through.

His music was embraced by Japan before the US caught on. They even sold ringtones before they were available in the US. He calls himself PayBoy Tha Allstar but also refers to himself as PayBoy Worldwide because that's where he's taking his music. Regardless of what he's doing or where he is, he always takes time out each day to talk to his fans. PayBoy states: "I am grateful and very humbling when it comes to my fans "
